Full-day itinerary
Shared van from Palenque town or the archaeological zone. About an hour to the falls.
Ejido entrance fee paid, brief introduction from the local Ch'ol guide.
Short trail through the jungle to the upper cascade. Swim, natural water-slide, jump ledges.
Continue down the trail to the middle and lower falls. Fewer visitors here.
Rice, beans, chicken or vegetables. Simple and honest. Vegetarian option on request.
Back to town by 16:00. Ruins visit possible in the late afternoon.

Round-trip in a shared van from Palenque town, roughly an hour each way.
A guide from the neighbouring Ch'ol community, in Spanish (English on request).
Entrance fee paid directly to the local ejido that maintains the trails and pools.
A simple lunch (rice, beans, chicken or vegetables) at the roadside kitchen at the falls.
Plenty of time in each of the three pools. Life vests available for stronger currents.
Eight guests max. The pools are wide but the trail to the third level is narrow.
